Service sector - Major issues in State Road Organisations.

Hi,
As a faculty of marketing, I keep on observing the various issues on marketing in day to day life. This time I would be talking about the service quality parameters learnt by us are rarely used by the employees of some of the state owned transport buses. In certain states the situation is very pathetic and massive action is required to benefit the travellers as well as these organisations. for example the empathy and responsiveness to the passenger's requirement is at a low ebb with Haryana Roadways. In spite the great strides in technology and sophistication levels, still the model and bus design is very obsolete and having lot of body vibration and noise in most of the buses.
Some of the researchers have already commented that if road transport improved qualitatively the space on the highway and per person fuel cost can be curtailed as compared to usage of cars and private vehicles. But the planners must decide very fast on these issues.

ORGANISED RETAILING THE INITIAL GLITCHES

India organised retail sector is undergoing a massive change and it will be influenced by the typical customer behaviour, business environmental issues and regulatory framework. And it is also going the change the way urban and to some extent rural population buys goods and services. Some of the operators have started feeling the pinch in terms of inventory issues, perishable item storage and display issues, high property prices, paucity of space etc. But with all this the consumer will get more value for money day by day. Because it includes stable players with long term interest in mind. Biggies with their mammoth financial back up will sail smoothly through rough times. So Happy retailing, Happy customers & Happy marketers for future.

War of DTH service providers

With the launch of DTH service by reliance with Brand BIG TV infuriated a war of sort with immediate reaction by tata sky new tvc and then launch afterwards of the sun tv in north India. we see now the price and communication war with earlier operators wooing the customers with new and innovative and competitively priced offers. In the coming times with the implementation of newer technology like IP tv the segment is getting hotter day by day. The great market which lies with the DTH is large scatter and untapped rural market which was not covered to the greater extent by cable operators as their operations were limited to town with more density. And I feel that existing legal norms coupled with the poor technology backup the local cable operators must be ready to have a rough patch of time ahead. today the quality and content are rules of the game as evinced in the proliferation of telecom sector in urban and rural areas.
