GROWTH, EQUALITY AND RESERVATION

Today I thought about reservation system in India which has its base on the caste and not on the economic parameters. This perturbs me more when I observe a parallel wave growing to give equality to everybody on all parameters. e.g. on opening up of the economy, less government intervention, more private sector inclusion. So I see the shackles of reservation system also unbinding in the years to come and there would be heightened resistance against the present reservation system and more so because of it's use as a political tool rather then really being serious about it. i.e policy of appeasement to some sects or groups or castes for political interests.

In recent times I have seen the influx of bid oriented programs, websites, print advertisements which all claim to be reliable and methodical just to give away the flashy branded items at throwaway prices in the name of unique bid. While I recently saw one ministry intervening on aspect of obscenity of two popular serials and rescheduling them. But do we have any regulatory framework for such unethical players who are showing partial face of some celebrity and then claiming that initially 10 to 15 respondents are not able to identify the very obvious celebrity. And they tend to syphon off hefty amount through your bids or telephone calls. I strongly oppose these kind of unethical practices and regulators must step in to streamline their operations. what is your take on them.
